The TSL2591 is a very-high sensitivity light-to-digital converter which transforms light intensity into a digital signal output. The device combines a photodiode (visible plus infrared) and one infrared responding photodiode on a single circuit. This means that it can separately mesure infrared, full-spectrum or human-visible light.
- Dual diode architecture
- Low power consumption
- Programmable interrupt
- I2C interface
- Keyboard illumination control
- Printer paper detection
- Solid-state and general lighting control
Adafruit have developed a library for the TSL2591 sensor which you can find on GitHub.
